For 35 years I’ve been refining a joinery system that allows glass to be flexible & strong. Beveling the edges of of all kinds of glass, I create neat silicone seams that join the pieces and look somewhat like a drawing within the larger shape. These joints make the whole glass sculpture quite strong, flexible and resilient. I love the idea that “broken parts” can be mended and “healed” to create increased resilience. And I’m often having an internal conversation with myself about how life’s shattering moments might be navigated.
