Fence Moss Cocktail Napkins
This photo print is the very first photo I ever took on my neighborhood walks while not feeling well. The very first ordinary thing that “lit up” for me in that unusual way. Walking along, in dental pain, in the rain, and there at the far side of my usual walking loop was a fence I’d passed many times, but suddenly the moss on it was so brilliant to me and there was SO much of it. A 30’ long fence covered in the stuff! Florescent green, so brilliant that the exposed wood around it looked a bit purple. Shocked I’d never noticed it before and me how much it lifted my spirits at just the right time. I snapped lots of photos and soon tried printing it on fabric and giving it as gifts to friends. Their enthusiasm inspired me to keep going…and I mean literally keep going with life, when it seemed I couldn’t. And that kept me motivated to keep looking, seeing and sharing through my quirky “Zora” lens.
This fence is gone now, replaced by a shiny new one. But I still get text messages when friends find other fence moss, which means the world to me. Always feel free to share fence moss with me, ok? Or any other beautiful/ugly/interesting sites you find.
