My glass figures are about the mature experience of feminine embodiment at this time on the planet. As I have begun to feel a somewhat fragile but also uniquely resilient, I’ve landed on using this unique silicone joinery system that allows for this fragile medium to become unexpectedly strong and flexible. Each piece floats inches off the wall on sturdy standoff screws. And all the “open” edges of glass which are usually dangerously sharp are sanded smooth, making them feel strangely soft to touch. I’m so grateful to the creative realm as it guides me to reflect on the many inherent “opposites” that life insists I embody.
