Aqua Angel

Meet Aqua Angel, who caught my attention one day while floating around the diving well at our local pool. Mesmerized once again by the amazing colors and light patterns one sees in swimming pools, I grabbed my underwater camera from the deck and started clicking. But with the bright sunlight and steamy goggles it was hard to see what I was capturing…until I got home. That’s when I saw this fun angelic shape of my shadow.

I know it might sound woo-woo, but with the challenging symptoms associated with Lymes disease I tend to keep an eye out for signs of hope. So I decided that this image was a good omen, a sign that there are helpful energies at play all around me as I navigate tough times. I fell in love with my Aqua Angel and tinkered with repeating and mirroring her image. Quickly she became a comforting, earthy, watery, army of angels floating around my design palette.

And now she’ll be helping me on this new adventure…getting my art off of the walls and into our lives. Clothing and functional linens that I can share with you. For years now I’ve loved having my art printed on fabric so my family and friends can physically engage with it, table runners, dish towels and t-shirts that we touch and use daily. I’m so happy I’ve finally found a company that does the printing and sewing for me and holds to high eco standards. The quality of these fabrics are really special. I’ve been wearing my shimmery velour t-shirts day and night and it’s washing beautifully.

Maybe you could use an aqua angel* too? I’m happy to share her with you :) Check her out in my clothing and linen shops as well as the other designs I offer there. And may you find art in this world that lift your spirits :)

*a portion of the Aqua Angel proceeds will go to the LymeLight Foundation, who provides grants for children and young adults with Lyme disease to receive treatment and medication as well as raising awareness about Lyme disease.
