White Ginger Cocktail Napkins
A couple years ago we planted some beautifully fragrant white ginger in our garden to help with how homesick I get for Oahu. I’m really surprised how much it helps…aromatherapy at it’s best! And one day I plucked a blossom, took some deep breaths and let the smell carry me to the islands, which inspired me to do a little painting of the bloom, right then on simple brown packing paper.
I really loved the simplicity of the painting and how it captured the earthy, delicious way that Oahu feels to me. So I decided to have it printed on fabric to use for our daily, mealtime napkins (instead of paper napkins). We love having these meaningful, small cloth napkins on the dining table in an easy access basket. We use them at every meal. It’s made it so fun and easy to stop using paper ones all together!
Can I interest you in converting to these small (much smaller than formal cloth dinner napkins),10”x10” napkins that save on paper and plastic waste? They are officially called cocktail napkins and come single or in sets of 4 or 12. I hope you’ll consider starting a collection of your own cloth napkins for daily use, either with my art napkins or you could just make your own with fabric you already have :)
Oh, and because these are much smaller than formal “dinner napkins”, a weeks worth of these only add up to the size of one additional t-shirt in our laundry.
May we reclaim the health of the planet and each soul upon it,
