Pool Lines Series
Featured this week: This is one of my favorite underwater pool photos called Hombre Pool Colors (above) and with it I’ve designed a textile series Mid Century Modern Pool Lines (below) which you can find in my Art on Linens Shop.
I just love how that one day at the pool offered the most beautiful lighting, movement and unusual color gradations. Beautiful grey/pink nearest to me and moody aqua colors furthest away. Lifelong swimmers like me are so lucky to witness these moment by moment color and light pattern changes, but can easily slip into being blind to them while just starring at that black line as we grind out a workout. But more and more I can’t look away from it, I become mesmerized and it actually brings me tears of awe.
That’s what got me tinkering with this photo, until I landed on a repeating mirrored pattern that I loved and felt very mid century modern. It’s a good example of the kind of art that I’m tickled to play with. And feel so lucky I found a company that prints it on high quality fabric in an eco friendly way so we can have it all around our home and gift it to friends. Table runners, dish towels, napkins and pillows, we use them daily and they’ve become a real family favorite.
I just love getting my art off the wall and into our daily lives where we can touch it and use it and I’m nervous but excited to offer it to you too. Take a peek at my new home Linens Shop to see my high quality and practical textiles, like pillows, table runners, tea towels and napkins. And if you’re more into clothing, I have some options you might like…oh my gosh I wish I could gift everyone a Velour Aqua Angel T-shirt…the word t-shirt doesn’t do it justice. It’s my absolute favorite piece of clothing because it looks so lux and feels SO good on the skin.
